ideas ideas ideas… & summit 07!

helloooo world!  So i have decided, to see if anyone is interested in hiking up to Mt. Washington in Summer 07.  It is tough but I have wanted to do this for quite some time and its just something that I would like to accomplish in this part of my life.  I also have ideas ideas and more ideas just sorta whirling around my mind … I hope to put them to action once I finish school (again) in May or June.  We shall see … anyone for a hike up Mt. Washington in New Hampshire?

I guess I really should…

… categorize my posts.  I will do that soon enough.

There is a lot of focus these days on Yahoo’s Flickr photo sharing service.  I have my reservations about them however, and it is not due to the fact that I support the family owned and operated Smugmug.com (which I still think as a photographer, is much better than the rest).  I love the fact that the world has embraced photography and the idea of photography is that much more accessible to nearly everyone.  My reservation is the fact that Flickr combined with the revolutionary effect of digital cameras, there is an over-excess amount of photographs floating around.

Perhaps it is because I view photographs in a very “holy grail” kind of way, but on the other hand, there are some things that do not need to be photographed, while others need a little more contemplation than “off the top of the head” perspectives.  I am not criticizing or implying that all those who use Flickr perpetuate this act, however photoblogs and photo sharing communities are inadvertantly creating that effect and state of mind.  I am all about freedom of expression, however as with all freedoms … there is almost always a need for moderation.

Ohhhhhh yea

it is hard to believe that soon… i will be out of school yet again and trying to find employment in this brave new world.  Perhaps this time around, I will focus on pushing forward my own ventures.  I just hope I will have enough cash…

In other news school is keeping me busy.  People are keeping me busy.  I wrote to an old friend today that I harshly criticized a while back.  I actually hadn’t spoken to her in about a year or so … not really sure what will happen.  However I do consider her one of the most substantial people I met during my years in Guelph and the least I can do is try and mend wounds…

ahhhhhhhhh

silliness… all the way! … forgive me for my random thoughts… my mind keeps debating between the importance of democracy and meritocracy …
