Alright, so a handful of us went up to check out the Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest 2006 and had reserved seats at the Scwaben . It was a pretty good celebration with plenty of good food, music, dancing and lively entertainment or general amusement. My only pet peeve, also everyone elses, was the fact that they didn’t serve ANY German beer. What’s up with that? The only pitchers we were able to get were of Canadian and Coors … which really left more to be desired to say the least. I doubt that Molson who was a major sponsor forced out all the German beer makers.
I managed to get in some fall colour photographs which was great. Woke up at 6:30 on Sunday, I will post them up soon. I’ve also begun writing my third book review on an old book by Geoffrey Trease called Cue for Treason. Great historical fiction for youth. It will be up at www.myopicsheep.com soon enough.
I hope to get out to take in the fall colours in the Niagara area and the Rouge Park region of Toronto as well. We shall see how that goes.
So aside from my recent Gobblebird weekend adventures, what else have I been up to? Still working at Dundurn Press, focusing on web marketing and data systems for supply chain purposes. It’s crazy how much work needs to go into one book and the amount of monitoring that needs to take place to make sure good ol’ Chapters and Amazon, as well as all the other retailers online don’t mess up the data shown on their websites.
In other news, Wandering Enterprises is still under construction so to speak. We’re still working on the overall business plan and I have help from a good friend with the logo so we’ll soon have *gasp*… business cards!
Alright…signing off time: Have a good Thanksgiving!
