@Mark — Thanks for your feedback! I guess I should have re-worded my first point; I actually meant it as the book was being written but you are absolutely right, the authoring process and the sales process need to be continual.

Ehren — this is an epic post. Regarding your first point, I would go further, you should begin publicity for a book before it is written — not just before it is published. The authoring process — like the sales process — should be continual. Otherwise I am with you on points two and three. More please.
